Dr. David Parrott UF at the Bowl Championship Series
Dr. David Parrott is a chief financial officer and an assistant professor at the UF. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in business administration from the UF. Dr. Parrott is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
David Parrott is also a member of the Financial Executives International and the National Association of College and University Business Officers. The education specialist has taught classes on financial accounting, managerial accounting, and tax accounting at the UF. He has also written articles for several publications, including the Journal of Accountancy and the Florida CPA Review.
Dr. David Parrott was named as the vice president for finance and administration at the UF in July 2017. In this role, he provides overall leadership for the university’s financial affairs, which include budgeting, accounting, auditing, cash management, investments, risk management, and real estate. He also was the overseer of the university’s human resources function. He was awarded the Certified Government Financial Manager designation in 2018.
Dr. David Parrott is a member of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. He is also a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers. David Parrott has served on the boards of directors for the Florida Council of Independent Colleges, the Florida TaxWatch Center for Fiscal Policy, and the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce
The higher education specialist also denounced the NCAA’s decision to not allow UF to compete in the Bowl Championship Series in 2013. The university administrator Dr. David Parrott is a strong advocate for transparency and accountability in government and believes that the best way to achieve these goals is through effective financial management.
