Mo Katibeh On Being an Introvert COO

According to the news published in on February 16, 2017, Mo Katibeh is an introvert Chief Operating Officer at RingCentral, a cloud communications company. She is also the second woman to become the COO of a public company in Silicon Valley.

Mo Katibeh, who started her career as a management consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, will move into her new role by this Spring. She will replace Scott Dietzen, who stepped down as COO at the end of 2016. Dietzen joined RingCentral in July 2013 and helped guide the company through its IPO in March. RingCentral went public on December 15, 2016.

Mo Katibeh is a Harvard graduate with an MBA from Stanford University. She worked for PwC for almost six years before joining RingCentral. Her experience in consulting gave Katibeh valuable skills as an entrepreneur and a leader. She has 15 years of experience in growing companies and helping business owners optimize their businesses rather than only focusing on revenue and growth. Katibeh’s experience was a perfect match for RingCentral, one of the most important details that lead the company to hire her as COO.

RingCentral is an American telecommunication company headquartered in San Jose, California. It has been around since 2000 and has approximately 50,000 customers worldwide. The company offers Unified Communications and Collaboration software, cloud-based Contact Management and VoIP platforms. Their business revolves around providing enterprise-level cloud communications services such as Telephony and SIP Trunking for their clients.

When you have a company of more than 1,000 employees in 35 countries, it’s important to have an executive team that looks like the employees. Katibeh is a mother of two young children. She is commonly mistaken as one of RingCentral’s technical team members due to her love for wearing sneakers and jeans to work every day.
